BRAND STORY

Columbia Sportswear was founded in 1938 by Paul Lamfrom in Portland, Oregon. Lamfrom, who fled Nazi Germany with his family, chose the name Columbia from the Columbia River. Initially focusing on hat production, the company expanded into outerwear in 1960, changing its name to Columbia Sportswear Company.

Following the sudden death of her husband, Neal Boyle, in 1970, Gert Boyle, then a housewife, took over the company. Under Gert Boyle's leadership, Columbia became a global brand, offering durable and functional products even in challenging conditions.

Today, Columbia is known not only for its outdoor apparel but also for its functional watch collection. The watches offer durable and stylish models designed for those who love being close to nature.
